    Feeling Happy

I am feeling happy today and just felt the need to tell everyone lol. I have no idea why. I am coming up to my 4 year MS anniversary and life is pretty good and stable. I had a hiccup at the beginning of the year but on the whole most days I forget I even have MS not because I dont have constant symptoms but because its now part of me and is my normal. I feel blessed that I am still able to work and do all the things I want to do (within reason of course).

I just wanted to share with the Newbies that IMHO life with MS becomes a much better place when you finally accept it and don't let it be your focus. I look back on my first year and what a **** year it was, I worried at every symptom, thought my life was over and expected medications to do all the work. Now I ignore the minor irritating symptoms and take note of the ones that could go on to cause problems and before I called my neuro I would think, now what will she be able to do for me and mostly the answer is nothing, she can listen maybe give steroids, perhaps another pill but mostly the answer is nothing. So in the last 2.5 years I have only called her once and that was cause I had shingles and need to know if I could have my Tysabri infusion (only had 2).

Anyway my bit of waffle for what its worth.

Hi Jo, glad someone is happy today!

Just kidding. I had similar day recently, giggling at everything I and everyone else had to say the entire day. It was a pretty remarkable day. Glad you're having a good one.

      Thank you!

Thank you so much for your post, Jo.
It was so nice to hear about your good day.

You are so right about gaining acceptance of what we cannot change and handling things the best way we know how with what we are dealt.

I am in my 3rd year of my diagnosis and I know for me, finally accepting my diagnosis (took me 3 years!) made all the difference in my attitude. I swear I even started feeling better. Even if I wasn't, it was much easier to handle.

Hope that happy feeling continues for you!

          Great!
It is good to be happy.
Being depressed about life has no productive value.
But being happy gives the power to strive forward.

I'll take happy anytime I can find it.
