    I Feel Lucky

Well as lucky as someone with MS can feel My entire saga has taken about 3 months; from onset of latest relapse to confirmed diagnosis. My diagnosis was confirmed today by the presence of 5 or more oligoclonal bands in my CSF but not in the serum. This confirmed the MRI results, clinical exam and rule out blood work.

I guess I feel lucky because it only took 3 months. Some of you have struggled for years and still have no answers. I also feel pretty good. I responded really well to the IV Solu-Medrol and the taper. My only side effect was an exaggerated response to heat. I'm also going to see "The Guy" on Monday. He was recommend by a friend with MS who has been relapse free for 14 years.

So while none of us knows what our MS future holds, today I feel lucky
At weddings, my Aunts would poke me in the ribs and cackle "You're next!". They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals. Dave Barry

You're right. And I feel extremely lucky, too. I was having symptoms, but didn't know it. It took a seizure to bring the problem to the forefront - but when I had the seizure the lesions were found, and an explanation to the tingling in various parts of my body was found. My doctor played off the MS risk, but evidently he was pretty confident it was MS, just didn't want to worry me, and said watch out for symptoms. Six months later I had a full flare - so he repeated the MRI, did an lp, and that was it. Two weeks later I started Avonex.
      Diagnosis: May, 2008
      Avonex, Copaxone, Tysabri starting 8/17/11
