    Question for Susan

I am going to start working with a new PT and OT this week. The OT told me she practices two methods:

    feldenkrais

    and

    myofascial release – (john barns)

Are you familar with them ?

I googled and understand as some gentle stretching a a type of massage ?

And if I am no longer able to walk/stand can they provide benefits for me ?

    Thanks much.

    Good morning,

Those are two very good treatment approaches. Therapists like to use different approaches to treat what is found on assessment. They often don't just stick to just that, changing according to your needs.

These therapeutic approaches add to the structures of the muscles and surrounding areas and provides natural patterning. Whether walking or stationary, interventions will certainly have some sort of impact whether of improvement or to prevent/reduce further limitations.

Keep me posted how things go.
    Be Well,
    Susan
