    5th Tysabri infusion yesterday

So I had my 5th infusion yesterday and Im wondering if anyone else has had any similar reactions. I get a wicked headac
he like a sinus infection almost about halfway through my infusion that lasts for several days. I also get extremely tired for about 5 days afterwards. Does this happen to many? Does it lessen over time?

I was on Betaseron for 4 years and alot of those symptoms stayed the same for me for the entire time I took it. I have found ways to cope with the Tysabri side effects but even if they persist I am doing better physically than I have in years so Im happy on the meds.

Any and all comments would be helpful, am the 3rd at my hospital on it and have not met anyone else there on it yet so know very little of what is typical aside from the medication guides.

    Thanks,
    Amanda
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad; The dreams in which Im dying are the best I've ever had.

    Hi Amanda, welcome to MSWorld!

I had been on Beta for alittle over 2 years. This January I started on Ty because my walking was getting worse, and my neuro said that was the best thing available at the time to help me.

I too have noticed that I feel alot better mentally and have more energy also! My weaker leg started bending alot better after the first infusion and continues to do so. No bad side effects - which is good!

In July I also started on Ampyra- the "walking pill" to help with walking and balance. I do have more good days than bad ones now but don't know which one is helping more in that area- the Ty or the Ampyra. I know I will always have a weak leg, but if my balance would improve, I feel I could live a halfway normal life again!

Not sure if this helps you at all, hope so. As with all ms meds, we all respond differently. Good luck! Casino

      I'm new to Ty too...

I was told (from here) to make sure to FLOOD (my words) yourself w/ water the day BEFORE your inf and the day AFTER as well. For before it's to get nice, healthy, plump veins, after to flush all the extra toxins out of the liver. I didn't get long headaches after inf since I've been doing this. Just "mini" headaches that come, stay for 2-3 minutes and then go away. My friend who's been on Ty for 3 1/2 yrs says he doesn't even get the "mini" ones anymore. So, (I'm not a dr) I say "drink up!"
      Good Luck!
