    catheters

My urologist has suggested my using a catheter with a leg bag.

I have constant UTI's and very little control of my bladder, I use about 60-75 pads a week.

Can anybody tell me pro's or cons about catheters

A neurogenic bladder and/or UTI can be responsible for the loss of bladder control. You do not mention any bladder studies or plan in place to control the UTIs. Often a suprapubic catheter with a leg bag is used for bladder management if other measures are not effective or possible. I suggest that you consult further with the urologist regarding bladder management. I know that bladder management can consume your life (as it did to me for a long time). I wish you success in handling the matter.
    Be happy!

      Hi Dee!,
I too had awful bladder problums. My Uro.has me self cathing 4-5 times a day as needed. It is the best thing I've ever done. I haven't had a UTI in over 4yrs.
My advice ( for what it's worth LOL ) is see another Uro. I don't use a leg bag except for travel, but self cathing has been a life saver.
Keep us posted God Bless Nona Judy
