    Noob here

I just joined the other day. I posted first on the Limbo land thread as I am only diagnosed with "probable MS". I have a positive LP, 3 "non-specific" lesions on my MRI of June 2009, and in May 2009 a case of Optic Neuritis.

Since then, I've had my right foot fall asleep for no obvious reason for about 1 minute. I have also had some strange buzzing feelings on my thighs (a bit like when your phone is on vibrate and it is against your skin). This lasted about an hour and I couldn't fall asleep.

I also have itchy crawly feelings and have trouble falling asleep without constantly scratching. I had it really bad when it was very hot and humid on the back of my head. I scratched my head raw and never could actually pinpoint the place that itched!

Now I have been diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo. Most of the time I do ok, but getting up from bed at night is a challenge. I have bruises all over me from bumping into the walls and bed.

I had some problems with my skin too with patches that didn't want to heal so my neuro decided maybe I don't have probable MS at all, but the dermatologist said it was from picking at it (in my sleep when it itched). He prescribed a steroid patch for the spots and it is mostly healed now.

Now my neuro has left and I don't have a new one. I did see an MS specialist at Dartmouth and he said I had Probable MS and suggested I start on the medications immediately. I said I wanted to think about it and I have yet to start on any med. I am working on my diet and trying supplements.

Most days I feel good except for fatigue. My PcP had diagnosed me with Thyroid problems in December and I am now in Synthroid.

I was struggling with depression and in June started on Wellbutrin. I am not sure I am happy with it. I am on the lowest possible dose. I feel better when awake and sleep less, but I sometimes have night hallucinations, especially when stressed.

I have had migraines for most of my adult life. I pretty much have had them since my teen years. When on Active Duty in the Army, I tried many drugs to try to prevent and stop them, but never found anything that worked well.

After Army, I had no health insurance and treated the migraines with Excedrin Migraine. Unfortunately, after about 10 years of that, I ended up with a bleeding ulcer. UGH!

Now I have the VA and I am on Valproic Acid (depakote) for prevention of migraines and have Zomig for stopping them.

The worst thing is that some headaches are caused by my neck and shoulders being knotted up from overuse. I have tried muscle relaxants, acupuncture, and massage to no avail.

Eventually, after a few days, it goes away, but I am miserable the whole time. The symptoms of these headaches is the same as the migraines, especially with the vomiting, but nothing gets rid of them but time I often wonder if it is a form of spasticity?

As for the good in my life, I have a wonderful boyfriend, a new puppy, a wonderful cat, and the best horse in the world. I have a wonderful house in the woods of VT with a clean and clear brook running through the back.

I love to read, play World of Warcraft, read forums , and lately I am learning to make silver jewelry (not wire stuff, but real metal work with soldering and everything.)

I did lose my old kitty and hedgehog in February and in June, my sweet old dog. It has been hard to lose 3 pets who were my family.

So, I guess I better end this long-winded story about myself. I am not so verbose usually!

    Hello Epona

Welcome to the MS World Forums - nice to meet you!

We don't mind your being "verbose" Thanks for sharing your story with us!

I feel bad for you with those nasty headaches. That must be miserable

Sorry about losing your 3 pets this past year - that's never easy. But it's nice that you now have a new puppy, and a cat and horse.

Good for you that you are adjusting your diet and trying supplements. You're undecided on a DMD at this time. If you want, you can read the various threads in our Medications Forum, and ask questions.

Hopefully you will benefit from the interesting topics here, and from our supportive members too.

Have fun with your jewelry hobby!

    Take care,
