    Double Chocolate Oat Cookies

    Ingredients
    12-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate pieces, (about 2 cups)
    1/2 cup butter OR margarine, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 cup oats, uncooked
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda

    Directions
    1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2 Beat margarine and sugar until fluffy; add 1 cup melted chocolate pieces, egg, and vanilla.
    3 Add combined flour, oats, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; mix well.
    4 Stir in remaining chocolate pieces.
    5 Drop by rounded Tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
    6 Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

    MAKES 3 dozen
