Ingredients
1 cup PLUS 3 Tablespoons water
1 cup PLUS 3 Tablespoons sugar
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
Few drops red food coloring
4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and rinsed
1 baked 9-inch pie shell
Whipped cream
Directions
1 In a saucepan over medium heat, cook water, sugar, and cornstarch until thickened and clear.
2 Cool to room temperature.
3 Add butter, vanilla, and food coloring.
4 Mix in strawberries and pour into baking pie shell; chill.
5 Top with whipped cream.
