    Bean and Sausage Chowder

    Ingredients
    1/4 cup margarine
    1 cup chopped onion
    1/4 cup flour
    1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
    4 cups milk
    1o-ounce package frozen lima beans, thawed and drained
    15-1/2-ounce can garbanzo beans, drained
    12-ounce package smoked sausage links, thinly sliced
    1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

    Directions
    1 Melt butter in a large soup kettle.
    2 Saute onion until tender, about 5 minutes.
    3 Stir in flour, dill and salt and pepper to taste.
    4 Stir until smooth.
    5 Gradually stir in milk.
    6 Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    7 Boil and stir 1 minute.
    8 Stir in beans and sausage.
    9 Cover and simmer until frozen beans are tender, about 10 minutes.
    10 Remove soup from heat and stir in cheese until melted.

    MAKES 8 cups
