BEST AND EASIEST CARAMEL (aka Dulce De Leche)
Can of sweetened condensed milk. (I make batches of 4 cans, they make great little gifts)
Do NOT open can!
Peel wrapping around cans.
Put cans in crock pot, add water to about 2 inches over cans.
Leave on Low for about 8 hours. I prepare just before bedtime and its ready in the morning.
Let cans cool down and enjoy!
Keep open can in refrigerator.
Note: I like to pour the caramel in pretty bottles (from the dollar store) and add a ribbon. I like to give this with a homemade bread or muffins.
