A dated CNN report stated that $1 in $3 spent on vitamins on vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements is wasted. When I review this forum there seems to be a competing diets and limited consensus on what supplements may or may not work. I look at some of the LONG lists of items people are adding to their diet and I wonder if I am truly missing out or simply saving money.
So many threads have so much information it's hard to digest the information. I was hoping for a more succinct list in the following or similar format:
Item/Dose:
Reason taken:
Benefits:
Cost/Purchased From:
Here is what I currently take
Item/Dose: Vitamin D-3/5000 iu
Reason taken: Vitamin D is low on blood tests
Benefits: I cannot attribute any positive changes other than higher Vitamin D levels on my blood tests.
Cost/Purchased from: $18.99 for 400 tablets @ Sam's Club
Item/Dose: sublingual B12 Complex/2500mcg
Reason taken: Low energy levels
Benefits: When I do not take the B12, I tend to have less energy.
Cost/Purchased from: $12.99 for 400 tablets @ Sam's Club
Thank you!
