    Did not make goals

Here were my goals for last week:

    1. Average of 1,600 steps per day.
    2. Exercise at least 4 times out of 7 days. Silver Sneakers, Wellness Center, PT, chair exercises or something else.

    Thurs - 1253 steps
    Fri - 1138 steps
    Sat - 1384 steps
    Sun - 1464 steps
    Mon - 1335 steps
    Tues - 1482 steps
    Wed - 1402 steps

    Total steps = ?
    Total exercise days = 0

I've decided that I simply need to put my exercise goals on hold for awhile. I continue to work on my functional medicine goals. Although he would like exercise to be one of them, he seems to be emphasizing other lifestyle goals more at this time. I simply don't have enough emotional "spoons" to pursue both.

Also, next week, my daughter and her family will be visiting from Canada for 10 or 11 days, and I'll need to focus on that. Hopefully, in 3 or 4 weeks, I can pick up exercise again. And, I'll probably get "exercise" playing with the grandkids.

I'll continue to post my steps and whatever exercise I do. But, I don't plan to set measurable or specific exercise goals for now.

      Made goal

I had another busy week as we finally had some great weather - sunny and in the low to mid 70'd range - so I spent part of 4 days working in my garden - harvesting, weeding and cleaning up some beds.

I also helped babysit 2 times - once for granddaughter and once for grandson.

Alas, my floors still need washing but we are getting some rain in the days to come, and perfect for inside work/exercise. Will someone please scold me if I fail to get that done by next weeks check-in? Goal for next week - at least 4 days.

Mamabug - have loads of fun with the little ones. They sure do brighten up our days!
Wishing all a great week ahead.

        Made Goal

        Hi everyone

Made goals, but barely. My walks were painfully slow (literally).

I did some light housework, but evidently not light enough, as I hurt the muscles on my left side (my better, functional side). I took Aleve for 3 days which helped alot.

I did my 5 walks @ 30 min each, but didn't take as many steps as usual due to my sore side. Nevertheless, I give myself an A for effort. I can't believe how I made it through the week.

Also, was up on feet (with rollator) and active 4X a day @ 30 min each, and did more stretching than usual to keep my muscles from tightening up.

I volunteer to scold you, but only if you don't have a real good reason for not doing the floors!

Wishing everyone good energy and perseverance.

          Made Goals

Goals for this week were 6000 steps on at least 4 days or average 5500 steps/day for the week.

          Thu - 6888
Fri - 8646 (worked on porch for a while and then collected aluminum cans for sale)
Sat - 7626 (Went to get more lumber for the porch and unloaded lumber to sawhorses)
          Sub - 7034
Mon - 10488 (painting, watered houseplants and potted some volunteer trees)
Tue - 8425 (doctor visit, shopping and feed for dogs and chickens to bins)
          Wed - 6206

          Walked over 7000 steps on 5 of 7 days () and averaged 7902 steps/day .
Even though I exceeded my goal by a large margin I will keep the same goal next week that I had this week.

KoKo - Great week ! I will give you another A+ for effort . Thanks for holding Seasha accountable - I couldn't do it (I have floors that need cleaning too lol). Keep on moving!

Seasha - Great week ! I am so envious of your garden . I looked at my yards earlier this week and thought about all of the things that needed to be done now (or at least during the next 4-6 weeks) to get ready for winter/next spring. It is so good that you can do all of that and still carve out time for grandchildren too . Keep on moving!

Mamabug - enjoy the time with your family. I am sure that the grandchildren will have you moving. Have a good "vacation" and we will look forward to your return to goals.

          Wishing all a wonderful week.

            Blah.

I'm just not doing very well ... this past month [really, this past year] has been rough and filled with reality checks.

I want to stretch every morning, get as much physical activity each day, and do the light rebound bounce twice a day for a few minutes each time, but I don't always do #1 or #3 ... so, I'm changing it to TRY to do #1 and #3. I always do #2, so that's not an issue. I kind of alluded to this last time I checked in, but I'm making it an official change. Everything seems like mountains right now.

I thought I'd be able to walk "to the edge of the woods and back" with my cane or walker every day, but I realized it came down to doing that or trying to keep up with housework and light barnyard chores. I cannot do all in the same day, so no more trying to take a walk unless it's saturday - that's my day of rest.

Seasha - rainy days give me an excuse to have dirty floors!! So when you mentioned the rain, I thought you were going to say how you were glad you had not cleaned the floors yet!!

Mamabug - enjoy your grandchildren! I think of how you're ridding plastic and wondered if you drink coffee? I *thought* I was zero plastic, but last week I realized suddenly that my coffee maker is partially plastic AND my coffee mug lid is plastic! It's bpa-free, but that doesn't impress me ... I'm sure there are other things harmful besides just bpa! I did a little research and discovered the Chemex coffee pot (I think thats how it's spelled). I'm planning on getting one some time soon.

KoKo - be careful! Painfully slow sounds a bit dangerous! I pray that gets better.

Not officially diagnosed due to non-MS-specific spots on MRIs, but the neurologists all agree it's MS.
Frustrated. January 2019: finally saw an MS specialist worth seeing. Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this.
            EDSS of 5.5, sometimes 6.0

I drink coffee very seldom. I enjoy coffee, especially on a cold fall or winter day. But caffeine, in combination with my MS, acts like a "diuretic on steroids". I just have to use the bathroom too often. We did have a single serving coffee maker with plastic parts that hubby used daily. We replaced it with a two serving stainless steel percolator. And we only drink coffee out of glass mugs. No lids.

Oh dear! No thanks!!! I take all day to drink the 2 cups I make in the morning, so maybe that helps with the diuretic side of things? I don't mind it cold, so a lidless mug will be fine. I do have a stainless steel percolator that I used on the wood stove in the winter - I'll have to dig that out! It's still packed somewhere. (no need to respond if you don't feel the need - I know you read it!)

                    Thanks for the concern!

No danger ~ just sore muscles from overuse, thank goodness.

Was able to continue moving, but slower. Moving and light stretches, along with some Aleve, prevented me from stiffening up.

                    All better now!
