I've been experiencing twitching in the rectal/anal area the last week or so. There is no pain associated with it and it only last for a few seconds to a couple of minutes on and off throughout the day. It is a very odd feeling as you might imagine. I'm thinking this is most likely MS related but I'm not sure. Has anyone else had this odd occurrence?

I haven't had twitching in that area but I often have what I call rectal spasms. My symptoms begin w a constant pain in that area that gradually increases in severity as time passes. I compare the pain to childbirth from the WRONG area. Thank goodness these episodes haven't so far lasted more than a few hrs.
Muscle relaxers do seem to help me.Dx 3/4/12. Tec X 2 as of 7/7/13

I've been experiencing similar symptoms for at least 6 months. It's not constant but I wonder if my daily caffeine intake and stressful lifestyle have anything to do with it. Maybe I'll try the muscle relaxers and see if I can tell a difference. Thanks for sharing......strange disease for sure.Comment
