Hi, looking for some insight as to how things work. My neuro brought up disabling me. I haven't really been in the work force for well over 20 years. If I'm disabled to meet Social Security's criteria, it is my understanding that, when I turn 50 in February, I can access my late husband's benefits rather than having to wait until I am 60 as would be the norm.
Anyone have any insights as to how this process works? My cognitive processes are such that I cannot make heads or tails of the SSA website.
Is this a situation in which an attorney might be helpful?
Thanks. I know I ask a lot of questions and provide very little help to you guys but I'll give more as I learn more, I promise!
Shelby
