As I am thankful that my law firm has won my disability case, but I was unable to obtain the documentation due to health before the documents was destroyed. Nor was I informed this would be their intention to destroy my documents from the closed case. How long is a law firm required to keep documents before they can destroy them?
I understand that any type of company has limited space for documentation, but this is the digital age where information can be stored on a disk. I usually hold onto my own records for ten years. Wouldn't this hold true for a law firm?
Thank you for your time.
