    Gastroparesis w/no Botox

I too have very severe Gastroparesis. There are only 3 options for treatment that I have been advised of by my Motility specialist. I am sure you know what they are. I never heard of using Botox. I am going to try the device.
thank you for starting this thread. I have been suffering badly and haven't had a clue about this problem until the Motility specialist. I didn't have any idea how this happened. MS had crossed my mind but I wasn't sure.
I wish you the very best and hope you find relief soon.

      I suspected.

I was pretty sure but a smart pill confirmed dx. I was surprised at how bad it is. I've ordered Domperidone from Canada hopefully that helps. My doctor has made me fully aware that a J-tube is in my near future.

This is in my case caused by the MS and will only worsen.

      Peace,

        Gastroparesis w/no Botox

        Hello again,
So good to speak with you. I just started the Domperidone. I was scared at first because it seemed like no effect. But, as the days go on, it's a bit better.
I too have a G-tube in the possible near future. I lost 70lbs in 6mos. or so. In my case, the docs are convinced that the condition was brought on by pain meds(Oxys) slowing the stomach processes. I think it's from MS. If your not on any pain meds then I my be right. I do so hope you get relief from the Domperidone.
Looking forward to hearing back from you, -Vikki

          a little relief

The domperidone has offered some relief. My GI wants me to cut back on pain meds my Neuro said "No way". Everyone is blaming MS. Narcotics may be responsible for some of the constipation but they are not to blame for it taking a day for my stomach to empty. I only take pain meds when absolutely necessary.

I have to take the domperidone about an hour before eating it causes my already hurting stomach to hurt more before it fully kicks in but then I really need to watch my food intake. Solids will leave me bloated, nauseous and in severe pain. Liquids and soft foods are key. Low, low fiber. No fresh fruits or vegetables only veggies that can be peeled and cooked. I live on carnation and protein powder smoothies for the most part.

Thanksgiving was rough, Christmas will be harder. We can do this though we need to find our balance.

          Peace,
          Anna
