Question for the ladies on Tec

I apologize for the TMI; this maybe should go in the Ladies Room forum but it's not a super active board and I don't know how many of the people who post there are on Tec.

Anyhow, for females on Tec, did you notice it affecting your cycle at all? Mine just came 6 days early, which *never* happens, and I'm wondering if it's a coincidence that it happened a week after starting Tec.

Huh...that's interesting...after 3 months where my avg cycle length was 38 days (May-Jul) after starting Tec in Aug, my cycle length is avg 30 days (Aug & Sept)...

I never thought of a correlation because my cycles aren't the most consistent, but it's interesting...

Haven't noticed it but ... it took B 4 yrs to mess w/my cycle. Since I've only been on Tec for 4 mos it may be too soon for me to know.

Yes, I've been on it for about 2 months and it's totally messing with my cycle! I am going my period every 1.5 weeks!

I haven't noticed anything here. I have an IUD and don't tend to have periods, but the other signs of my cycle have stayed consistent. I've been on Tec since it came out.

the interferons totally messed with my cycle, though!

This is interesting! I never knew DMDs could have any effect on your cycle! I don't remember ever hearing that mentioned as a possible S/E, but good to know!

For those of you who found DMDs messed with it, did they go back to normal after you went off? We *might* want to try for another baby at some point so I'm curious if Tec really is messing me up, if it's likely to have lasting effects.

                Maybe?

This is interesting because my cycle started early this month. I usually start on Wednesdays but this month it started on Sunday. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I stopped taking my BC about a month and a half ago. I just started my 4th month on Tec.

                  comparing effects

Hi folks I'm new to all this. 5 days on tecfidera this is my first med/recently diagnosed. I really don't like this flushing. So Hot and itchy.....turning very red all over. it's creepy and scary and I'm still on the starter dose.

I am feeling very "no way" about increasing the dosage! I'm reading notes here to see what people are experiencing. I can't see taking More of this! called my neuro today he said it's normal and keep taking it and go ahead with the full dose. um, no. I'm still thinking about it!

I wanted to avoid needles but now I'm thinking about asking him to put me on tysabri. The flushing is bad enough now I don't want to find out what it's like with a higher dosage. I also want to know if people are having improvement with their ms symptoms? thanks.....

Eliden: None of these drugs are really supposed to help with your symptoms; they are to prevent/reduce future lesions and relapses.

Are you pre-medicating with aspirin and taking your Tec with a full meal to help with the flushing? Also maybe try 120mg once a day, then twice a day, then 120 in the morning and 240 at night, on your way to working up to the full dose?

What Kim less than a month apart? I would talk to your GP and neuro, this is not normal.
