Lemtrada update from the FDA panel

The FDA panel, although concerned about Lemtrada and its possible risks, understands the need for MS medication, and agrees that MS patients can make the decision on the risk/reward of this new drug! Yay! Someone is listening.

I have a difficult time with accepting the recommendation of the FDA, in lieu of the fact that the 'board' members votes were split. It seems like the recent approval of this drug in the EU has some bearing on the FDA's position. Then, of course, the known possible side effects are a serious concern. Always a 'crap shoot'.

I think they want to let doctors weigh the risks. For certain people, it may be worth it.

And these 'doctors' will probably accept free trips to 'sunny beach resorts' for getting patients to 'try' Lemtrada. I guess...
