    Does this make sense?

For the past few years my insurance company has required prior authorization for Provigil/Modafinil.
I changed insurance plans in January but stayed with the same carrier.
I submitted a prescription for 100mg twice a day in January. They paid for one fill and advised me I would need prior authorization for the next refill. I advised my neurologist but the insurance company claims they never heard back from the doctor. I actually believe the insurance company. Contacted doctor's office several times and left messages but nothing was done.
Went for my six month neuro check-up last week. Brought a copy of the letter and my emails to the doctor's office showing nothing has been done.
Well, now I have a prescription for 200mg twice a day. Doctor says they may pay for that. Also doctor is having a pharmacist write the insurance company rather than the doctor as the letter indicates.
Seems like I'm beating my head against the wall. Do you think the insurance company will now cover the drug?
