That references one of trials - others showed reduction in time to disability progression (and reversal of disability i.e. edss scores actually improved over the trial duration for the campath treated patients).
The same is also true with Tysabri which looks to be more effective than campath.
In my opinion MS is one disease that has an inital presentation of relapse / remit as the brain is able to compensate for the damage. Over time the brain is no longer able to compensate and MS becomes progressive.
PPMS, in my view, is MS where the initial relapses were missed because the damage was happening in areas that were not critical to everyday function.
So I think the best approach is to be as aggressive as possible as early as possible.
That is why I am keen on campath
