Can't do my job anymore, now what?

I have had the myriad of tests, prognosis MS. After having numerous appts with this doctor, including past appts when we didn't even think about the differing symptoms being connected, I had had it. The only clinic in our area for MS specialists and they refused to let me see a different doctor. I have been out of work now because I can't due it due to the problems I am having. I am on additional pain meds to get through the day and I am waiting to see a local neuro that doesn't deal with MS. I have no idea if I should be looking for a different job, wondering if there is one out there I can do, or??? I was a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years and they thought I had MS 22 years ago, but thought the MRI didn't show much. No LP was done. No other exams. I've had varying symptoms through the years but was dismissed just for those symptoms by a few doctors (face went numb, cardiologist said I was wasting his time, another said to 'wait it out', see if it goes away when I had it happen again). I couldn't hold my newborn daughter 22 years ago due to the numbness and weakness, fatigue was horrible. So, now I need to have an income (my husband had died several years after that), and I have been certified as a Medical Assistant and Optician. I can't even open a car door some days. What kind of job allows you to be that flexible? I am on pain medication for nerves and general, no specific MS meds. I have no idea if this will continue, but my hands have been tingly, numb, sometimes 'on fire', sometimes it feels like I'm having a finger cut off. I can't do my job which requires many hours of typing at high speeds, and my memory/concentration and occasional eye blur is also affecting my ability to work. I have no idea what to do. Or think. I want to work, and need an income. I know many have been here, so I'm looking for opinions, suggestions, 'outside the box' ideas. Thank you!
