    Is this a ms symptom?

For the last few days when I am standing I will start bending at the waist very slowly. If I am cooking it won' t be long my face is almost touching the food. It happens brushing my teeth, standing in the shower, I do have a shower chair to wash my feet. I don't feel it happening. I do use a power chair a lot but never had trouble standing a bending. My legs are always weak.
Am I heading for a wheelchair permanently ? I know you can't answer that question but maybe someone has or had this problem.

    Hi REG

What you have described sounds like trunk weakness (back and abdominal muscles).

I think it is fairly common with MS, especially after many years.

I've had trunk weakness for several years.

I have to be very careful when standing for awhile because I will be leaning over in no time (forward or to the side usually).

I lean while sitting too, especially while sitting on my gel or foam cushions.

Worse when fatigued, too warm, etc.

Very, very careful when leaning forward to pick something off of the floor!

Yes, I do have PT regularly. He has me do core exercises, which I have been doing for quite awhile on my own as well.

I do think they help some.

And yes, my trunk weakness has been progressing for many years.
