I discovered a shoeline that might be helpful for anyone has difficulty getting shoes on or wears an AFO. It's called Billy Footwear.

The inventor had a spinal cord injury and for years struggled with shoes.

They are contemporary looking sneakers that feature a full-length wraparound zipper. Pretty cool design.

There are a few different retailers that carry them. You can even order a different size for each foot thru the manufacturer and certain styles at Zappos.
