Many times I've tried to swim while I sleep. It becomes very frustrating to try to put my arms under water and find them hitting a hard bed.
Lately that has stopped. Now I just find myself enough on the floor that I cannot pull myself up. I've had caregivers wake me up because I was in such a bizarre position.
I looked on Google and it's called REM sleep disorder. I knew it was when I was dreaming that it happened because I was in the middle of a dream so intense I had to finish it. And I knew that when we are dreaming there is rapid eye movement, thus REM.
But has anyone else had this happen? It's supposed to be related to degenerative neurological diseases.
I got a railing to put on the side of my bed. I don't like it but it keeps me on the mattress.
