Can you be sure your dizziness is MS dizziness?

One of my first and most difficult symptoms of MS has always been my lightheadedness/dizziness. I've dealt with this one for a very long time. It never seems to go away for long. Always comes back and usually seems worse.

I've been tested for vestibular problems with no results. Seems like I wake up dizzy and stay that way most of the time. I did have a little break from it for awhile, but it's back.

So, what else could cause this? How can I be sure this is just a MS thing that I can't treat or control? Is there ever a treatment for dizziness from any cause? This is beginning to really limit my activity. Sometimes it feels like my eyes are acting crazy, making my head feel huge and off balance. It's got me worried and confused.

Does anyone have any input?? Thanks.

    Me Too

Dizziness was among the first of my symptoms and the one that NEVER went away. I am dizzy every day. I, too, have been to ear, nose and throat specialists (several) and the dizziness is not vestibular.

Several neurologists and 2 MS specialists have all told me there is nothing I can do to relieve this MS dizziness. I had acupuncture for it and though my balance improved, I am still dizzy every day. I wish with all my heart that I can find something that will help with this but so far, after 8 years, nothing.

Marti, I wish I had something positive to say about this but maybe someone else will answer who has had better luck.

Thanks for your message. I didn't really expect to find anyone with anything positive about this issue. It's been around and around this forum many times. But it does help to reassure me that this is really coming from the MS.

        Some input....

I too have had similar to you.....
The ENT specialist can't say it's vestibular, & vestibular therapy was only partially helpful. I have it daily since 2015. The ENT prescribed low dose diazepam which helped & since I started Tysabri in May this yr. I have noticed a considerable improvement.

Sorry about your symptoms, with no relief.
I hope you can find some answers.
