How is it determine that you are in fact having a flare?

How is it determine that you are in fact having a flare? Would it be from the MRI or your symptoms?

For definitive relapse, an MRI will show active lesions when the pictures are taking after the contrast dye is injected

Some neuros will treat as relapse based on symptoms even absent active lesions, while others won't.

    Good luck today.

There are "experts" on this board who can answer your question re the MRI. From personal experience, I know a flare is happening when existing symptoms get worse and/or new ones show up. If they persist and don't give me a break I'm off to get the IV.

Hope you're not in a flare.
