    Medicare Plan Finder

Medicare Open Enrollment is about to open. If you qualify please take the time to research your options and find the best plan for your needs. The Medicare.gov website has a plan finder where you can enter your drugs and other information and compare plans. Original medicare would cost me almost $80,000 annually for the drugs I take. Using the plan finder I was able to find a plan that would reduce those costs to under $9,000. The entire process took about 15 minutes and I was given a number of choices. Fortunately, some of the medicare plans covered all of my MS medications.

I'm glad you found a good solution. For myself, I will never sign my Medicare over to an HMO, they call it Medicare Advantage. I've heard too many horror stories about it. People who can't choose their own doctor, being denied services, spending hours fighting for preauthorizations and on and on.

For most drugs there is Medicare Part D. And for the copayment on MS DMTs there are a multitude of assistance programs. However, if you are independently wealthy, you won't qualify.

What's done is done. I hope it works out for you.

That's so amazing that you can type in the drugs. I wish the ACA plans have that. I am not near medicare time but good to know. Hope ACA plans take their cues. I am still having a hard time finding Tecfidera on any of them.

Yes it works very well. I also would not want the advantage type HMO plans. I opted for a,b, d and a supplemental plan to pay the 20% Medicare does not cover.

It worked great for years until this year with all the cuts. I actually have had two specialists stop covering Medicare after 20 years, one kept me on because I had been with him for so long but the other not and I have trouble finding a replacement because the options don't take Medicare.

Obamacare took the money from Medicare it seems. Take from one group of unfortunates to give to another group of unfortunates.
