What is your exp. with EMG?

    Hello,
I have to get an EMG, and I'm wondering what to expect. It's testing my nerves going to my lower extremities. Namely I'm experiencing numbness on the bottom of my feet.

    Thanks everyone!

No biggie. I was nervous about it, but it doesn't hurt at all. The only part that's a little uncomfortable is when they "shock" your nerves. It feel like a strong jolt going through that area of your body, but definitely tolerable. The actual insertion of needles is nothing. You won't even feel them. Ever had acupuncture? Simple procedure that takes about 15 mins. Definitely nothing to stress over.

      Not bad at all

I had an upper and lower EMG done with the nerve conduction velocity study. I did not find this to be bad at all, I was also nervous after hearing about how horribly painful it was. If it helps not to look when they are inserting the needle probe then don't. Really both tests combined took 45 minutes and I did not find it bad at all.
