No one but me has confirmed MS. Several first cousins (there are nine of us) have some pretty bad auto-immune diseases.

Genetic predisposition - exposure to unknown something (perhaps in childhood) - something later in life triggers it to wake up. a.k.a. the perfect storm.

I often wonder about the environmental exposure portion of the "cause" theory. Especially since my sister's diagnosis. That's when it really became "real" for me somehow. My diagnosis was no longer just a freak thing. I hate this for my parents most of all. We are the only children they have.
      Dx - Jan 2005
      1st Symptoms - Dec 2004
      Currently treatment - Tefidera (6/14) & LDN (4/09)
Past treatments: Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex, Solumedrol IV, Prednisone

I don't know of anyone else on either my mothers or father side and both were from large families that have MS.
