I was diagnosed 3 months ago and have a question. My left leg (which is my good one) has started falling aspleep often......and although it wakes up there is still the tingling. i am afraid a lesion has developed on the right side of the brain because i have never had left leg issues before. am i just over reacting? this disease makes me crazy!

A good rule of thumb with MS is that if the symptom (yours is sensory), has lasted more than 24 hours, continuously, not off and on as is normal in MS, then you need to call your MS specialist. What I mean by that is that sometimes in MS we get random numbness that comes and goes for hours or minutes, but does not stay for 24 hours steadily, this is normal in MS. If it stays for the entire 24 hours, it is probably an exacerbation and warrants a call to you neuro.
The lesion could be on the same side in the case of some areas of brainstem, or opposite side. It just depends. You could also have a spinal lesion.
Good luck

Hello. It's early days, so if you are anything like I was, you'll be noticing things you would never have thought twice, or even once, about before.
That part of it does get better. I'd say, "try not to worry" but that's not going to happen.
Here's my philosophical do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do. MS is just like life. There are no guarantees, and no one knows what might happen tomorrow.
We just have to play the cards we're dealt as best we can.
(That was all a bit insufferable. Sorry.)

i just wanted to say that i remember feeling scared an unsettled in the early days after diagnosis. when ever something changed i was easy to think of the MS and yet i have several other medical problems that it could just as easily relate to or maybe even just sleeping the wrong way!!
that hypervigilance mode dose seem to ease back a little with time. BUt in the meantime remember that there is a lot of friendly giudance and support. you may want to look up the multiple sclerosis international federation- if you go to the resource/publications page you will find that you can sign up for a magazine they produce every few months that is a fantastic source of information- ou can either have it mailed to you or see it online and all past copies are free to download-its useful info that is realistic without being scary
check it out
