What a shame to have to deal with people like this.
I would have quickly stopped her with "who are you to question what my husband does?" and "who are you to question my HP license?"

She needs put in her place, even by a lowly patient.

GRRRRRRR!!! This boiled my blood! You can file a complaint, contact The College of Physicians and Surgeons. Your GP can help you to see your original neuro instead of Monster.

A few years ago, my regular neuro sent me to St. Mike's MS Clinic in Toronto to make sure he didn't miss something. My neuro is the nicest man, a great doc but his specialty is strokes. I guess he thought an MS Specialist's expertise would be beneficial. Wrong!!! This "MS Guru" was the biggest jerk. He berated his assistant in front of me and other patients, I should have known then.

After insulting me for "all this blinking", among other things, he KICKED MY CANE that I used for balance due to my blind left eye and dim right eye before asking what it was for!!!

I was so thankful that he didn't need to see me again. The next time I was at my GP, she saw this jerk's note in my file and made mention of it. Before I could spout off about what a horrible man he was, she told me that her son and Dr. Jerk's son grew up together.

I definitely get the impression that unless we're extreme or unusual cases of MS, the "specialists" are not always in our best interests. In other words, unless they can publish something about us that their name is attached to, they don't want anything to do with us.

Please know that it's not you! Seems to be an epidemic in our province. Hang in there.

I should have whipped her butt. By the time I got to see her, my system was filled with Dilaudid. I was buzzed! She treated me like I was stupid and had only 1/2 of a brain.

I'm the person who always puts a curve on bad behavior and abuse. No matter where I am, when I see someone getting that kind of treatment I'll step in. I'll speak out for those that can't! Let me note that I'm not a busybody... Lol... But I don't put up with abuse.

I wish I'd had all my senses about me. Also, I think it's a good thing my hubby wasn't there. He's never treated me with anything less than respect. He feels as strongly as I do. His English is not that good so he probably couldn't have gotten the right words out. We probably would've gotten kicked out of the hospital!

          Update on Dr. Monster... Grrrr!

I heard that I was finally accepted at the MS Clinic! I was finally so relieved.

My daughter called the clinic and was told that they received a call from DR MONSTER telling them NOT TO ACCEPT ME IN THE CLINIC because she is the one looking after me.

We were told to make an appointment with DR MONSTER! I'm feeling more and more that she's a stalker.

          I am furious!

            Carole,

I would be furious, too. I hope someone can help you navigate away from this dr. I can't offer any advice on that, since I live in the US. I've had a few jerks for neuros, but have been able to change. Some of them should never be allowed contact with patients! I do get stuck with the one who accepts my insurance when I go to the closest hospital, though. My MS Specialist is out of another hospital.

So sorry this dr. has reared her ugly head again! No one should be subject to the way she treated you. How sad and awful. She had a lot of nerve to comment on your husband as well. My husband has had to leave for work or be home with my kids.

I hope there's a way you can see another neuro at the MS Clinic. Maybe your GP could help direct you like Cat Mom suggested?

Best of luck. Sounds like you need it.
