    Diabetes?

My Dad who has had MS for 33 yrs has just been diagnosed with Diabetes. I guess it was pretty high when they caught it at the hosp. He is now taking 3 shots a day. How will this complicate his MS? Will this make UTI"s even more likely and harder to control?

High blood sugars can make UTIs more frequent as well as more serious. High BGs make for a breading ground for infections....

Getting his blood sugars should make such infections less frequent and much easier to to avoid/control.

I used to get LOTS of urinary tract infections in my early days of diabetes. With better control I seldom get them now.

I was diagnosed with type 2 about a year after I was diagnosed with MS. Taking the meds, oral or the shots has helped me. I have not had a UTI since.
