    Michiganders..Any MS Clinic Recommendations?

Diagnosed with "Probable" PPMS by my current neuro and he is arranging for second opinion/consult...He called and asked where I want to go??? Ummm Have not got a clue where the best place to go for this. He mentioned Wayne State MS Clinic or Ann Arbor (U of M). I guess I do not know much about any of them to make a choice.

Does anyone have experience with either of these two or anywhere else in Michigan that is good? Please share your experiences....

    Thanks

I have been to Mich State, Wayne st & U of M (AA)

Mich State is for animals you hate, worthless. (horrible)

Wayne st did not want to BOTHER with me due to age, they deal mostly with people in their 30s (and 40s) not 60s! He made that very clear. They want people for their drug trials etc. but it may have been more an insurance issue?

I See Dr Segal who heads the U of M MS clinic, but I see him at the VA MS clinic. So far he the best neuro I have had PERIOD. He is kinda busy, but he cares about his patients, and good bedside manner, a doc I can communicate with better than most. He is also involved into MS research.

Gomer At least that's MY experience

Not sure how far you would have to travel, I see Dr. Herman Sullivan at Saint Mary's Neuro Science Program and I really like him. He is also the Medical Director. I also met someone on another board who was in limbo land and they flew up here to see him and got a DX from him. At least he was honest and told me if one of the other neuros have made a proper DX and started me on a DMD years ago I might not be SPMS right now.

      Good Luck

Dr Fuentes at the Mid Mich MS Clinic, (located at Mid Mich Hospital). Actually she is my Neuro but there is also Dr Ma and Dr Dardas in there as well. They are all very knowledgeable and kind caring Dr's. They have an MS Nurse also (jackie) that is a sweetheart and will do whatever she can for you.

Not sure where you are but all 3 of these Neurologists are great. Dr Fuentes is a tiger at doing what you need done. She will make sure she has answers.

            St.Mary's in Grand Rapids

Maximumlite is talking about Grand Rapids. I see Dr Sullivan as well. My Neuro I had before sent me to him because she didn't know what else to do for me as far as treatment. He does trials for some of the drugs and such to.

Not sure what your drive on GR is but he is a good MS Neuro.
DX 10/10, JCV postitive by a lot (said Nuero lol), Betaerson, Gilenya, Tecifidera, Aubagio now on Ocerevus
