Don't know what to make of radiologist's report

Some of you may remember my previous posts but quick back story: I seem to be having an exacerbation for the first time in 4 years, with about 7 different symptoms popping up over the past 6 weeks, so the MS center ordered a brain and spine MRI and were concerned I might need to move to a more aggressive drug.

Now ... I know I should take this with a grain of salt, since the MS specialist may see things the radiologist doesn't, and there have been times he's thoroughly disagreed with the radiologist's assessment. But my husband just drove down to the hospital and picked up the radiologist's report for me (since the MS Center keeps insisting they haven't gotten it).

    * C-spine MRI shows NO lesions. Totally normal.
    * "Several" lesions on each hemisphere of my brain but no focus of abnormal enhancement, i.e. no active lesions.

I'll certainly know more when the MS Specialist actually compares this MRI with my previous ones to see if there are new lesions, but I have some questions for you guys in the meantime: Could an "inactive" lesion be causing my symptoms? I don't know if this is good news or not because if MS isn't causing my symptoms, what is? I go back to the MS Center 10/25 for my followup appt so hopefully I'll get some answers then. I also just made an appt with a PCP here in Columbia for 10/28. If this is something other than MS, I guess I'll work with him on more testing to figure out what's going on. Hopefully it's something easy to diagnose and treat but we'll see. Anyone else had a similar experience when they thought they were having a flare but MRIs showed nothing? Did you ever find the cause of your symptoms?

My last relapse was Optic Neuritis. My doc just believes me when i say i have ON and orders steroids. At the same time my feet became very heavy & i knew that couldn't be caused by a lesion on the optic nerve? So i requested an MRI to find out why my feet had become so heavy? She ordered a brain & neck mri. the brain mri had an enhancing lesion on my optic nerve...i thought uh-huh i knew this really was was optic neuritis, but i admit it was nice to see the proof of what i thought.

the mri of the cervical spine was clear of any enhancement or new lesions. i do have 4 older lesions there. at my follow up appointment she told me sometimes a new lesions will cause old lesions to act up.

my feet had never felt heavy before? i have tingling but this was a new symptom to me. she told me that a new lesion can cause an old lesions to act up & act up in ways not recognized? I do have 4 lesions on my neck which could have caused the heaviness my feet.

That's interesting about new lesions causing old lesions to act up. I hadn't heard that before.
Thank you for taking the time to reply! I really appreciate it.
