    1 month solid of burning/tingling...

I've had pins/needles in my heels for a full month. It's now radiating up my ankles and causing extreme weakness in my legs. I've had ms for 15 yrs. and this is foreign to me. Now get this, within the last 4 days, I'm nauscious w/occasional irregular heartbeats, dizzy, weak, tired, slow to speak, can't remember s!@#. I have totally lost feeling in my fingertips and have to concentrate when picking things up. Can an ms attack be this severe this fast? Should I consider steroids? My dr. did a "neuropathy" test to rule out other causes and determined it was probably due to ms. I'm currently on copaxone for 1 yr., should I change treatments? Sorry so long, I'm just scared. Thanks much.

Hi mskitty, welcome to MSWorld. Sorry you have to be here, but it's a great place to come to when you have this disease.

With ms- everything is so different for us all, and there is no normal about any of it. From what I have read anything new/different symptoms that last over 1-2 days (I think) might be considered a flare.

From your list, you have quite afew different things going on right now. You said your doctor thought it was probably due to ms- if so, maybe a round of steroids would help. If I was in your place, I would talk to your doctor again.

Good luck to you mskitty and I hope you get relief and some answers real soon. Casino

        Golly Gees!

I was just reading your posts and thought to myself " just a month?". I have had burning in both feet for years now. Started as pins and needles though and never really left. I am not DX'd with MS yet. Amazing how different everyones disease progressions are. Hope the docs can give you something to relieve it for you. I have used Neurontin for years. It helps me to at least be able to walk short distances, and calms the burning feeling.

          mskitty,

I just want you to know that everyone with MS has different symptoms at different times... You should see your Neurologist and talk to him about how u feel... I was recently diagnosed with MS and this is new to me, but from what I read it seems to me that your having a flare up!!! I wish u the best!!! Angie XOX

I'm currently on "solemedrol", hope it helps, at least temporary. Neurontin gave me double vision, dizziness and didn't seem to help, if this doesn't I might try "Lyrica". Thank you guys. It's nice to be in this boat with ya, well I guess
