A life with my friend

A life with my friend, “Many Scars”

by:
Julia Taylor

I have a tempestuous life with my friend “Many Scars.” My daily emergence from fitful slumber reminds me of her presence. We start our day wrestling with each other like a pair of mismatched sumo wrestlers. She struggles to overpower me with fatigue or pierce my limbs with burning pain. I, in turn, rebuff her with my indomitable will, steely determination and power of positive thought. These qualities forcibly lift her out of the wrestling arena that is my life.
