StoicOP

My real world name is Ransom David. I go by both, family calls me David, others Ransom. In MSWorld I am stoiccat/stoicop.

I retired from the U.S. Navy in August 1991. I moved back to Missouri in 92 as a single divorced male parent.

My first MS symptom was foot drop gait/balance problems. I passed it off to osteoarthritis and physical therapy seemed to work for a while. But the last 6-9 months before dx saw me go from cane to walker to dx. I got by for about a year after dx using a rollator [4 wheel walker] but bad weather and a exacerbation put me in a wheelchair.

I came to MS late at 51 and have 22 years of sobriety and living the serenity prayer behind me.

That and reading studying stoicism prepared me for dealing with MS.

I have been on Betaseron since 8/2000.

My most common quote: "I won't complain"

David/StoicOP

We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we respond to them. [Epictetus]
