Toad in the Hole

This is a breakfast recipe...fun for the young or "young at heart"

used by permission of the Fort Worth, Texas, Chapter of PAMS (Partners Against Multiple Sclerosis) printed in their November, 1997, newsletter entitled "News From Pams"

1 slice of bread
1 teaspoon of butter or margarine (may also use nonfat cooking spray)
1 egg

Tear a hole in the center of the bread, large enough for the egg. Melt butter in a skillet. Put the bread into the skillet and crack egg into the hole. (Toast the torn out piece of bread, too.) Flip the egg and toast over, when the egg white has set. Serve on a plate with the toasted torn piece of bread on top of the egg, so the toad will look like he's peeking out of the hole.
