Rice Side Dish

submitted by Samantha Lankford,

You can do this with any type of rice you wish.

2 cups of water
1 cup of rice (not instant in my case)
2 tablespoons of tomato paste (any kind works)
1 tablespoon garlic paste (powder can be used also)
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

I have a gas stove so this is my process (took me a while to figure this out!)

Put rice into water so they heat up together, mix in  your seasons and whisk well until all combined.

Cover partially with a lid (if you cover all the way you will be cleaning it up off the stove!) and let it sit.
I check it about every 10 mins, it usually takes mine about 20-25 mins.  You can cook on medium heat but it tends to stick to the bottom of the pot.

This recipe can also be used in a rice cooker or whatever your heart desires! This is a recipe that you can play with and make it your own.  I hope you all enjoy it!!
