"A JOURNEY THAT NEVER ENDS"

by  Amy Lapham Brimmer,

On a Cape Cod beach, one hot Summer's day,
You called out to me but I didn't look your way.

Lost in a trance, deep in thought,
Walking to rid of the "baggage" I brought.

Later that day I went back to the pool,
Soaking up the sun and trying to stay cool.

I heard a voice say, "Tim, it's the girl
from the beach".
I had no idea that day true love was within reach.

You asked for a date and I smiled and agreed,
You drove the convertible and you took the lead.

A party with friends, a paddle boat and more,
I really had no idea what was in store.

The next day you left to go back to your home,
I thought that was "it" and my mind it did roam.

But you came back for me,
to spend the whole week,
Our friendship became one
that I knew I would seek.

From then it was forever, for you and for me,
Each day our love for each other was all that we could see.

We got down to business and I finished school,
Family, friends and fun would be our golden rule.

I went to you in Connecticut to start a new life,
A few years later, I became your proud wife.

Beautiful children, we have been blessed,
We love them all dearly, we know they're the best.

Our journey continues up and over
some bumps in the road,
Some days it's been difficult for us to carry the load.

We walk together, we hold on tight.
We love each other, each day and each night.

Fifteen years of marriage, nineteen as friends,
You and I are on a journey that NEVER ENDS.

To my handsome husband with love always.
Happy 15th Anniversary!
Love, Amy   7/11/07
