"Baking Bread"

by Jaclyn Henderson, aka JackieLani

Preheat the oven and then wait.
Oil the pans and make sure that they're clean.
Have a snack while the tea heats up.
See what's on TV.
Check to make sure of the station
and you've got the time right.

There's nothing else planned that's better
that what you've got,
So feel good that you're all done for the day.

Have another glass of water and put your feet up.
Check the recipe again to make sure you put in all the ingredients right.

Maybe there's another recipe you can create later,
but for now this one's great.

Oh, that butter and blackberry jam
will be so heavenly!

Put the salad together
and make sure there's enough dressing to go around.

See what's going on in the world:
read the paper or watch the news.
Don't worry about anything.
Remember that all the people
who don't want to talk to you now
don't know what their missing.
Don't curse, forget things, or repeat yourself.
You don't have to do anything now to get by.

They're done!
You did it!
Give yourself a pat on the back and be happy!
You also don't have to tell anybody.
You did this all by yourself!
Nobody had to help you today.
You didn't act like Humpty-Dumpty!
There's nothing that fell down and went bang!
Tomorrow is another day.
You did really well, so give yourself a gift of love!

Read another chapter of Isaiah.
