Not Alone

Frightened of this thing inside me
I have nowhere to turn
I look to family and friends for help
But I turn and there’s no one there.

I have felt alone for most of my life
Until I found this place of hope
Now I finally belong to something
That helps me through my days.

Looking back it’s hard to imagine
Where I would be today
If this place were no longer here
To guide me on my way.

Sometimes we all take things for granted
Not meaning to I’m sure
But stop and think what you would do
If suddenly there were no doors.

No way for you to communicate
No way to share your hope
No one would care about your fate
Or help keep you afloat.

But there is someone here today
Who will listen to all your fears
They will even kneel down with you to pray
And help wipe away your tears.
