The group of authors worked together well as the doctors and psychologists from the Western Multiple Sclerosis Center, put this useful workbook together to help people with MS manage their lives.

My first impression was to keep turning the pages to see what was available. In my opinion, that makes it a useful resource tool and well worth the $12.97 to purchase and keep on hand.

In this easy-to-read book, the topics seem to cover much of the spectrum of life with MS. Topics range from managing medical and psychological symptoms to improving your sex life. Budgeting, finances, community resources, spirituality, health insurance concerns and exploring employment opportunities is all covered.

The authors obviously agree that knowledge is power and that MS can be "best controlled and best lived with when we balance a prudent lifestyle with effective treatment ... and these sorts of choices require sound and current information" provided in this workbook.

I was pleased to see the chapter called "Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income: How to Jump Through the Hoops Without Stumbling." Applying for SS Disability is one of the most stressful experiences discussed on MSWorld message boards and chats. So much so, message boards has a dedicated site to communicate with volunteer attorney, Richard Feingold. Plus, we have had several chats with Richard answering questions of our members.

Appendix D-2 of the workbook has several work sheets for you to see what the SS Administration will need to document your medical status when applying for disability.
Internet resources are listed in the last few pages. Remember, even though MSWorld is not listed as a resource, that when one goes on NMSS site, they can link to our chat site. I have called the publisher to ask the author to be aware that MSWorld is a valuable resource and add our link with the next printing.
