This author wrote to me saying  "Be aware of the language..." and I'm glad I was forewarned. This man had a story to tell and, unfortunately, died shortly after he wrote to me in late 2007 of a blood clot; completely unrelated to his MS.

This man was a proud U.S. Marine. He loved his family and late in the book we learn of his true love, Brenda, who loved him unconditionally in spite of his MS. Brenda wrote to me telling me of his untimely death and his desire to have a book review on our site. I just wish I had written it so he could have read it.

This is not an easy review to write. Not because of his MS story but because of the graphic sexual content and language. Even though we know before it is said that he had MS, it is not brought to light until after page 220. I would have liked to hear more about him dealing with his MS so positively and less about his sexual exploits.

Had I met Edmund, I know I would have liked him and admired his strength in his adversity. I would have offered to edit his book for him to make sure his message that life does not end with a diagnosis of MS happened.

He ended his letter to me saying, "Stay up, stay strong." And that is what he did in his life.
