The author received her medical degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Portland, Oregon.
This cookbook is geared to anyone wanting to eliminate potential food allergies which may cause inflammation, which then might slow healing and potentially lead to chronic diseases, such as: "Protect yourself and your family from heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, allergies - and more."
The book includes: 125 recipes, examples of foods to eat and to avoid, and a full week of sample menus for summer and winter months.
The book is interesting and incorporates information along with the recipes in the first three chapters:
* Modern Health Paradigms * Inflammation: What's the Big Deal? * The Importance of Diet
The book is written well and easy to follow, even if you don't like all the recipes, the author says she hopes readers will find 10 recipes they like well enough to incorporate into their diet routine. That seems a fair expectation. You might need to do some shopping to try some of the recipes since the ingredients may not be standards staples in your kitchen.
But food that is good for you is worth the effort to try. Many people with MS, and other chronic diseases, want to try new things to feel better. For this very reason, the book will give you pointers and information to improve our health. So if you are motivated and willing to try new tastes, this book will interest you.
I haven't tried any recipes yet but I have my eye on Turkey Meatloaf, Mexican Morning Eggs and the Basil Pesto.
Here's to good health and better eating!
