Meet Melanie, aka Mellow

My name is Melanie VanDam, and my husband's name is Geoff. We look forward to the support meetings in MSWorld®.  We benefit greatly by feeling not alone with this awful chronic illness called Multiple Sclerosis.

My family and I were poisoned by carbon monoxide in 1995.  Because of this, in addition to my MS symptoms, for the past two years I have had considerable pain and nerve damage. My daughter has autistic-like features because of possible brain damage caused by the carbon monoxide. My husband also suffers from ADHD, since the accidental poisoning.

My MS has been the family focus because of how quickly it can take away so much. Because of this, we enjoy life through our daughter's eyes.

My family and I enjoy fishing and a lot of nature strolls. We are naturalists who live in Northern Ontario, on a fresh water lake, here in Sudbury.

God plays a big part in our life. Without the Lord, we would not live at peace with ourselves and our physical ailments.

God bless everyone! I hope to meet you all soon in MSWorld®.
