You mentioned on another thread that you get fasciculations. I was having lengthy periods of reflux (dxed by ENT) that coincided with the fasciculations I get. I had a scope, all was fine, but when I mentioned the fascs to my gastroenterologist he told me that fascs happen in all smooth muscle, and that could definitely cause reflux (and then trouble swallowing).

My gp prescribed Lyrica to help with the fascs -- the twitching causes my right leg to bounce and it wakes me up. Taking lyrica at night also solved my reflux at night issue, so I think my gastro is correct in his opinion.

Just something to discuss with your gp

Thanks, I will ask about Lyrica, I did not know it had an effect on smooth muscle. I am also noticing a tight feeling around my upper abdomen when the swallowing problem happens, the tightening goes all around my upper abdomen, under my ribcage, some baclofen helps but does not get rid of it.
