Medical Marijuana really works

Things are going so much better lately. My symptoms are disappearing after starting using mmj a few months ago. I applied, got my card, and have smoked daily since (indica). Here's what it's helping with:
  • My leg pain has dramatically reduced.
  • My mind is at ease at night, so I get MUCH better sleep now (before my mind would race all night..tossing and turning)
  • My attitude, mood and emotions have improved
  • I have cut my use of Gabapentin slowly in half

If anyone has ever considered using medical marijuana for MS symptoms, I would recommend it. I am sure it works differently for everyone, but it's worth it by cutting/reducing all these medications.

I don't doubt what you say is true.

It's nice that you live in an enlightened state that allows you to try mj for ms.

Hello Look2theStars,

I am very happy MMJ is helping you. Many have had positive experiences with mmj.

It's important to keep in mind not everything works well for everyone. Reactions to medications (prescribed or OTC) vary from person to person.

I am one of those who CANNOT use mmj. MMJ actually INCREASED one of my symptoms and DID NOT help the symptom I was taking it for...Pain.

Medical MJ

I didn't know it was legal in Colorado. I experimented with MJ when I was younger, but got sick twice on it but was drinking too, so I swore I would never do it again.

Since being diagnosed with MS, I have seriously thought about it though as I have heard what you said from several people. If they ever legalize it for medical use in Texas, I will definitely try it.

I've heard that MMJ and pain are rarely a good match, except for cases where it helps to 'distract' one from the pain...

As with any drug , mmj's effects differ between people. I take Gabepentin for hand tremors mainly. MMJ keeps my legs from knoting up painfully. I don't do the Bruce Lee jump kicks in bed trying to go to sleep. It eases the always there pain in my legs just enough to allow me to walk more and longer. I cut my Oxycodone pain pills in half.

MJ is also thought to have neuroprotective properties. I have had MS for 32 years, with little progression thus far, and I wonder if using MJ has contributed to this?

It does help with my pain, and certainly my mental state...

I mean, if it was legal in my state, yeah, that's it, if it was legal.....

just sayin".....

Where I live now, there are medical marijuana stores on many of the main roads in town. It is also very easy to get a card for under two hundred dollars. I have considered getting a card to treat my ms symptoms.

Texass, are you from Texas? I live in Houston and as far as I know, it isn't legal.

Our asthmatic son informed my wife a couple of years ago that MJ is a bronchiodilator (and backed it up with refs)...

I have been waking up with painful leg spasms at night. In the past, I have been able to reduce their frequency by backing off LDN temporarily. Haven't had much luck with this recently. My question: is it possible to get this in pill form? I don't want to put any more smoke into my poor lungs.

There's a prescription med that's an under-the-tongue cannabis spray but I can't remember the name of it. It's legal in Canada but not sure about the US. It's supposed to be good for pain, my neuro discussed it with me when first dx 7 years ago but never ended up using it as Gabapentin did the trick. Might be a good option for those of you don't like the smoking aspect of it, causing damage to your lungs, etc.
