Just Diagnosed After Long Road
For years I have been having health issues... Ranging from eye sight problems to urinary problems...
I was diagnosed with Wilson's disease about 18 months ago... And we thought that answered all the questions.. Well 4 weeks ago I pretty much went blind. I could barely see a wall in front of me. I was put in the hospital and given lots of steroids to reduce the inflammation in my ocular nerves. It slowly started to work. Then two days ago I woke up in horrible pain in my legs. I am still at the hospital. MRI showed lots of inflammation in my spine. Spinal tap confirmed MS. They have me on a 5 day series of ACTH. Then they are sending me home on copaxone. I am still confused and not sure exactly what this ms diagnosis means... But I hope to find some answers here. I am a stay at home mom to 6. |

Hello TyAndCheyMommy
![]() Welcome! You certainly have your hands full with health issues, including MS, and 6 children. Sorry that you have to go through all of this. It must be extremely difficult for you. Has your eyesight returned? Hopefully you are able to see now. Quote:
Also, the National MS Society website does a great job of explaining MS. Here is a link if you are interested: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/abo...sis/index.aspx If you have questions - just ask! Hopefully you will be doing better soon. Good luck with the Copaxone. Let us know how you are doing. ![]() Take care, KoKo

Wow! My heart goes out to you. I will pray, pray, pray for you. I really hope that you are able to do better on the new meds. How old are your kids? Is your husband being supportive? Do you have family around?

My kids are 13, 12, 10, 8, 4 and 4. My youngest has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair.
I am normally a very active person and not one to sit around on the couch. All my kids are noticing a difference in how I am not able to make it half the day without feeling completely worn out. I am using a walker now and unable to drive. I feel like a complete stranger from how I normally am. I am praying to get back to a bit of normalcy soon. I am home now, so that does help a bit! |
