Possible amusement park trip

My company is having a company picnic at a local amusement park, I really love roller coasters. But for some reason our company has decided to have it at the end of June, which means its gonna be really HOT. I'm debating on whether or not I wanna risk going and making my husband leave after only a few hours. Is there anything you guys recommend to either make the day easier to handle or advise on whether or not to risk it?

I don't know how things work for you, but here are some things that would help me:

1, find the coolest spot you can and make it into a "base camp." Spend time there to rest when you start to get over heated.

2, use a wheelchair if you can get one, or if the park rents them out. In addition to being able to focus my energy on having fun, it has often meant that I can have someone hold my place in the line while I wait in the shade (sometimes the ride operators will let you skip to the front of the line, but I don't like to abuse that privilege).

3, have plenty of frozen drinks with you, if you're allowed to bring in your own (or play the disabled card and explain that you need them for your health!). Or just buy lots of cold drinks at the park--sometimes refills are cheaper in a souvenir cup, and they might give you ice for free.

4, some of those water-absorbing neck things (with gel inside, and you soak them) might help, especially if you can bring in a cooler or some ice packs to keep them extra-cold through the day.

5, if you can, go towards the end of the day. I know I have a lot more fun at amusement parks in the evening, when I'm not trying to deal with the hot sun.

I hope you can manage to go, because amusement parks are so much fun. I love roller coasters too, but I haven't gotten to ride many lately because between my health and my partner's herniated discs, it just hasn't worked out to go to an amusement park.

Jayem had a great answer. I went to Disney World & used a wheelchair & lots of cold drinks & found a shadey spot & claimed it!

I did cheat as I have a dear friend who lives in Orlando & I'd go to her house to rest, than we'd go back to the park.

Have a great time,God Bless Nona Judy

you have been given some great advise already, as for the dont like to cheat bit, some aparks have a priority lane for anyone not just the disabled, i think you pay a little more for the ticket but it may be worth looking at

as for the cooler neck ties, dont forget the vests that work the same way, they really do help but if you do not want to go that far the company i got mine from also make a cap and a neck cooler that - the cap helps a good deal as the scalp is designed to transfer heat and the neck cooker goes around the nape of the neck and down the back a little, they work well in conjunction with the vest but also quite well alone- if all you have are the little neck ties, get a couple extra and put one round each wrist. cooling vests and these ties can be given a bit of a boost by being placed in a plastic bag after you have soaked them as instructed, then placing them in the bag in the fridge for a while before going into the heat

the company that i got the neck and cap piece from as well as the vest was
articheat.com.au
they even make products for animals from memory!
